Role Summary and Qualifications

As a Nursing Hospital House Supervisor (RN), you will operate under the guidance of the Manager of Nurse Staffing, the Director of Medical/Surgical Services, and the Administrator On-Call. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and ensure quality patient care through effective management of clinical activities during your assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee nurse staffing, ensuring the appropriate number and type of nursing personnel are available to care for patients based on their needs.
  • Conduct daily patient care reviews, regularly visit patients, provide suggestions for care improvement, and engage in the care of selected patients.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of budget processes and staffing plans, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management.
  • Participate in monitoring, coaching, evaluating, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure timely patient admissions from various departments.
  • Act as a patient advocate during off-hours, addressing patient concerns and reporting interactions to the Patient Advocacy Department.
  • Respond to all CODE/RRT situations throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • PALS certification is required.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in acute care/specialty nursing is desirable in the relevant specialty area.
  • At least one year of previous experience in a charge/supervisory or management role.
