Job Summary and Qualifications: As a Nursing Hospital Supervisor (RN), you will operate under the guidance of the Manager of Nurse Staffing, the Director of Medical/Surgical Services, and the Administrator On-Call. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring quality patient care through effective management of clinical activities within the hospital during your assigned shift.


What you will do in this role:

You will supervise nurse staffing and ensure that there is an appropriate number and type of nursing personnel to care for the patient population and their acuity levels.

You will conduct daily patient care reviews, visit patients regularly, make suggestions for care improvements, and engage in the care of selected patients.

You will demonstrate an understanding of the budget process and staffing plan, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions.

You will participate in the monitoring, coaching, evaluating, and disciplinary processes.

You will ensure the timely admission of patients from the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Direct Admissions, and the Access Center.

You will act as a patient advocate during off-hours for patient concerns and report these interactions to the Patient Advocacy Department.

You will respond to all CODE/RRT situations throughout the facility.

What qualifications you will need:
Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license. BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
PALS certification required. Graduate from an accredited nursing school. BSN preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in acute care/specialty nursing is desirable in the area of specialty. One year of previous experience in a charge/supervisory or management position.
