Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the comprehensive planning, organization, direction, implementation, and evaluation of all facets of resident care, ensuring that the holistic needs of residents are met while adhering to State and Federal regulations as well as Community policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in effective communication with nursing colleagues, physicians, pharmacists, and family members regarding resident health statuses.
  • Address concerns raised by residents, families, or physicians, taking appropriate corrective actions or escalating issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Participate in Resident Care conferences, maintaining and updating Resident Care Plans to ensure their accuracy and relevance.
  • Administer and document medications as per physician directives, ensuring timely ordering and replacement of expired medications.
  • Accurately document patient care issues and report them to the necessary personnel as required.
  • Identify and recognize signs and symptoms, utilizing sound judgment to select suitable treatments or procedures.
  • Supervise and guide ancillary staff, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
• Valid Colorado Registered Nursing License in good standing.
• Preferred advanced training in geriatrics.
• Minimum of one year experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Supervisory experience of at least one year preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Exceptional customer service skills.

Working Environment / Physical Demands

Moderate physical activity is required, including the handling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. Potential exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and other infectious diseases is present. The role involves sitting, standing, bending, and moving intermittently throughout working hours, with frequent interruptions and interactions with residents, families, and visitors.
