Culinary Service Specialist

At Catholic Health Initiatives, we prioritize patient-focused care. Our comprehensive medical facility is designed to promote healing for the body, mind, and spirit, providing a more comfortable and less stressful environment for our patients. We offer a wide array of medical services, including trauma care, cardiovascular services, emergency response, surgical procedures, maternity care, oncology services, and diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
Sign-on Bonus Eligibility
Shifts are from 6am to 2:30pm, including alternating weekends and rotating holidays.
1. Prepare serving areas with a variety of hot and cold food items in accordance with established standards.
2. Serve meals courteously and accurately to all patrons.
3. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of tables, serving areas, and other food service equipment.
4. Prepare and serve grill menu items as requested.
5. Operate the cash register and maintain accurate cash records in line with departmental policies.
6. Manage inventory, monitor temperatures, and support the departmental quality assurance initiatives.
7. Assemble patient trays accurately and in a timely manner, portioning food and beverages for meal service.
8. Disassemble returned patient trays, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitization of equipment, dishes, trays, and carts before and after each meal service. Prepare the dishwasher for operation and clean it post-use.
9. Operate the dishwasher to guarantee comprehensive cleaning, sanitization, and drying of dishware, pots, pans, and utensils. Sort, stack, and soak all dishes and cutlery in designated containers following standardized procedures.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment and work areas. Ensure that tray, china, and silverware supplies are adequately stocked in the Dining Center. Transport food carts to and from all patient areas.
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to read and write or follow both oral and written instructions.
Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, and management personnel.
Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to remain on feet throughout the workday. Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
Physical capabilities to bend, stoop, squat, climb on a step ladder, and reach above shoulder level. Ability to crouch, kneel, and maintain balance. Proficiency in using both hands simultaneously.
Pay Range
$20.33 per hour
