Role Summary

The Hand Therapy Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing personalized occupational therapy programs aimed at assisting patients in developing, recovering, or maintaining their ability to perform essential daily tasks. This role involves educating patients on the use of adaptive equipment to facilitate their participation in various activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the patient's functional limitations and disabilities to establish suitable treatment plans.
  • Develop and execute therapy programs that aim to restore physical function and alleviate pain, while preventing further disability.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical documentation of evaluations, treatments, and patient progress.
  • Exhibit expertise in the rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity, including knowledge of post-operative recovery and the creation of custom orthoses.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in orthopedic and manual therapy is preferred.
  • Must hold a valid Occupational or Physical Therapist license in the state of Colorado, in good standing.
  • Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Demonstrated competencies in job knowledge, communication, customer service, organization, and confidentiality.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary, along with appropriate vehicle insurance coverage.
Physical Demands

This position operates within a standard medical setting, which may involve frequent interruptions and distractions. The individual must effectively communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues, utilizing various communication tools.

The role requires mobility throughout the clinic for extended periods, assisting patients with mobility and transfers, and the ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
