Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist I to join our team at UCHealth. As an Occupational Therapist I, you will play a critical role in evaluating and treating patient populations for therapy needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition, establishing a plan of care that is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Patient Education: Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits, providing information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Discharge Planning: Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting, ensuring a smooth transition to the next level of care.
  • Supervision and Delegation: Supervise and delegate the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Utilize critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, taking appropriate action in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure: Current licensure with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Occupational Therapy.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
