Job Overview

Position: Roofing Cost Estimator

Location: Tacoma, WA (In-Office & On-Site)

Join a respected local contractor specializing in commercial and residential roofing and waterproofing solutions. As a Roofing Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in engaging with prospective clients, conducting on-site evaluations, and compiling precise and comprehensive cost estimates. This position requires you to be the primary liaison with clients, nurturing strong relationships while overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are executed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed cost estimates for roofing projects, adhering to budgetary limits and project requirements.
  • Examine project blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to ascertain the scope of work, necessary materials, and labor expenses.
  • Utilize estimation software to create thorough and precise estimates.
  • Assess project risks and formulate contingency strategies to address potential cost overruns or delays.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Track project expenditures throughout the construction phase, identifying opportunities for cost savings and implementing effective cost control measures.
  • Provide continuous support to project managers and construction teams, resolving any estimating-related issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in estimating, specifically in roofing.
  • Proficient in estimation software, including Excel, Job Nimbus, and Xactimate.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
