Position Overview:

The starting wage for this role is $14 per hour.

Jiffy Trip provides an additional $2 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM, as well as an extra $1 per hour for weekend shifts from 6 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Sales Associate at Jiffy Trip will warmly welcome customers and facilitate the sale of products in a courteous and efficient manner. This role requires developing a solid understanding of product offerings, store layout, promotional activities, and advertising strategies. The Sales Associate may also assist with food preparation tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining the store counter, ensuring cleanliness, and managing the receiving and stocking of inventory.

As a representative of Jiffy Trip and Hammer Williams Company, the Sales Associate is expected to uphold a professional image at all times.


Key Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess customer service experience, strong communication abilities, demonstrated mathematical skills, and the capacity to complete daily tasks efficiently. Additionally, the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and learn new skills is essential.

In accordance with state regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old to sell alcohol in a convenience store. Candidates under 18 will not be considered for this position.



Essential Functions:

1) Proficient in reading, understanding, and writing in English.
2) Capable of performing arithmetic calculations for making change, completing shift reports, and managing product counts during vendor check-ins.
3) Adequate visual acuity to verify identification.
4) Ability to comprehend operating instructions for electronic cash registers and other equipment.
5) Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, including items such as cases of beverages and other merchandise at least once per shift.
6) Competent in stocking shelves and coolers.
7) Ability to respond to emergencies, including lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 20 lbs.
8) Capable of bending to handle equipment and measure gasoline in storage tanks.
9) Tolerance for exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning agents.
10) Ability to climb ladders for cleaning purposes.
11) Proficient in spoken and written English, including the ability to hear spoken communication.
12) Capable of performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and managing waste disposal.
13) Ability to maintain cleanliness in the parking area and surrounding grounds.
14) Willingness to work in cooler environments at temperatures of 34 degrees for short durations.
