Position Overview:

The starting wage for this role is $14 per hour.

Jiffy Trip provides an additional $2 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM, along with an extra $1 per hour for weekend shifts, from 6 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Sales Associate at Jiffy Trip is responsible for welcoming customers and facilitating the sale of products in a courteous and efficient manner. This role requires a solid understanding of product offerings, store merchandising, promotions, and advertising strategies. The Sales Associate may also assist with food preparation and will support various store operations, including counter service, maintenance, housekeeping, and the receiving and stocking of merchandise.

The Sales Associate must recognize their role as a representative of Jiffy Trip and the Hammer Williams Company, consistently maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

As per state regulations, candidates must be at least 18 years old to sell alcohol in a convenience store. Individuals under 18 will not be considered for this position.


Essential Functions:

1) Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English.
2) Proficiency in performing arithmetic calculations for cash handling and inventory management.
3) Adequate visual acuity for checking identification.
4) Capability to follow instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment.
5) Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including items such as cases of beverages.
6) Skills to stock shelves and coolers efficiently.
7) Ability to respond to emergencies, including lifting a fire extinguisher.
8) Capability to bend and lift items as needed for operational tasks.
9) Tolerance for exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning agents.
10) Ability to climb ladders for maintenance tasks.
11) Proficiency in spoken and written English, including listening skills.
12) Skills to maintain cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and trash disposal.
13) Ability to clean the surrounding areas of the convenience store.
14) Capacity to work in cooler environments for short durations.
