The Tactical Aerospace Department is recognized as a leading provider of aerospace quality technology integration for both new and existing Department of Defense systems. Our expertise encompasses avionics, mission line replaceable units (LRUs), flight-ready payloads, ground aerospace systems, and innovative third-generation AI/ML solutions tailored for DoD platforms.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive system-level and LRU architectures, employing data science and analytics methodologies to create effective data pipelines, potentially incorporating advanced AI/ML techniques.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define hardware, firmware, and AI/ML specifications for intricate flight-worthy avionics systems.
  • Engage directly with clients to clarify system requirements and design architectures that align with their expectations.
  • Provide leadership in technical project management throughout the lifecycle of each program.
  • Implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to enhance system design and architecture.
  • Assist management in marketing initiatives, proposal creation for embedded avionics projects, and the formulation of product and technical roadmaps.


Daily and Monthly Duties:
  • Act as a Systems Engineer for embedded avionics and aerospace initiatives.
  • Lead a diverse team in the development, integration, and testing of sophisticated avionics systems, covering electrical, mechanical, firmware, data pipelines, data science, and AI/ML components.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders to define technical system requirements and aid in the creation of specification documents and system architectures.
  • Conduct trade studies across relevant domains to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assign functions to components and systems, translating those into actionable requirements for engineers, designers, and managers involved in design, development, integration, and testing.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, along with relevant experience.
  • Over 8 years of experience in developing, deriving, and allocating tiered Systems Engineering requirements within avionics applications, including data pipelines and tiered Data Science applications.
  • A broad understanding of engineering disciplines involved in avionics development, such as Systems Engineering, Hardware Development, Firmware, Integration, Testing, and Certification processes.
  • Experience in developing system architectures and a foundational understanding of MBSE practices.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
