Job Summary

The Recreation Specialist is a key role that requires expertise in project management and coordination. This position is responsible for overseeing specific projects or long-term initiatives, ensuring their successful execution and timely completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of a project, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Establish and maintain project files and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide regular project updates to the project leader, including written reports and presentations.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, depending on project requirements.
  • Offer expertise and support to project leaders, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Enforce City policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Be available to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Relevant technical skills, education, experience, or expertise in recreation or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and the ability to provide transportation, as required.

Selection Process:

Qualified applicants will be evaluated based on their related experience and the quality of their application. The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to an oral interview, which may include a written and physical test. Satisfactory candidates will be placed on an eligibility list, with placements anticipated immediately after the list is established.
