Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in establishing and implementing treatment programs to facilitate the development, maintenance, and expression of an appropriate leisure lifestyle for patients with physical, emotional, or chemical dependency issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment by providing care in accordance with the multi-disciplinary treatment team, treatment plan, and programs to meet patient care needs.
  • Coordinate the performance of subjective and objective initial and ongoing evaluations of patients according to diagnosis, past history, and physician referral.
  • Assure the definition of realistic goals for rehabilitation following assessment of specific problems.
  • Communicate treatment recommendations based on recreation assessment to the treatment team and identify treatment intervention strategies to facilitate treatment planning.
  • Facilitate the assessment and re-assessment of the patient's physical and/or emotional problems and needs for recreational therapy as determined by history and results of evaluation procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Current TRS licensure in the State of Utah.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Current National Certification in Therapeutic Recreation and Annual MANDT competency training.
Work Environment
