Position Overview

Role Summary

The Lead Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional massage and body treatments tailored to the unique needs of each Spa guest. This role demands a strong commitment to the policies and procedures established by the Biltmore Hotel Limited.

Key Responsibilities

Therapist Duties:

  • Deliver Spa services promptly and courteously, adhering to Biltmore Standards and Leading Hotel Standards.
  • Guide guests to and from treatment rooms, addressing any immediate needs during their visit.
  • Provide information and assist with all guest service inquiries.
  • Promote and sell Spa retail products effectively.
  • Participate in all training sessions and meetings organized by the Spa.

Lead Therapist Duties:

  • Facilitate the training of new therapists on treatments, protocols, and standards.
  • Assist the Spa Supervisor and Lead Spa Concierge in educating the Concierge team on treatment benefits and selling points.
  • Conduct evaluations and audits on treatment protocols.
  • Oversee weekly inventory checks and manage necessary purchase orders.
  • Inspect treatment rooms and compile weekly reports on their condition, noting compliance with setup protocols.
  • Support staff scheduling to enhance service availability.
  • Coordinate vendor meetings, training sessions, and incentive programs under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as directed by management.
  • Collaborate with other Spa departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Team Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Support management in conducting internal audits of all LHW Standards for the department.
  • Attend all Team Lead meetings led by the Training & Development Manager.
  • Complete the assigned quota of audits weekly and monthly as directed by the Department Head.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining up-to-date training manuals for new and existing employees.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in a similar role within the Spa industry.
  • Knowledge of various modalities and Spa products is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Adept at performing accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to provide clear communication and directions.
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job functions.
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Capable of maintaining composure and resolving issues with sound judgment.
  • Ability to follow directions meticulously.
  • Understanding of guest service needs.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to confidentiality regarding guest information.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and typing.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and multitask effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending and twisting.
  • Effective communication with team members and guests.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures as per hotel environmental controls.
