Job Overview:

As a Claims Recovery Associate, you will be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and resolving recovery and subrogation claims valued at $2,000 or less, arising from third-party damages to company assets. You will also provide essential administrative support to colleagues managing more complex claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into recovery and subrogation claims, ensuring effective resolution of claims resulting from third-party incidents.
  • Assess liability by gathering official documentation, engaging with involved parties, and collaborating with field personnel as necessary.
  • Manage challenging situations and effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Utilize available databases and analytical skills to assess and calculate claim values for recovery and subrogation. Embrace a paperless claims handling approach, demonstrating strong computer proficiency.
  • Process payments to vendors and agencies for investigative documentation (e.g., police departments).
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Receivable Accounting Department to ensure accurate processing and reporting of recoveries. Prepare management reports as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reduction. Oversee specific assigned processes and projects.
  • Actively engage in safety initiatives and volunteer activities.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred: Associate's degree.

Experience:
Associate Analyst - Claims: Minimum of 3 years in property and casualty claims, litigation paralegal/secretarial experience, or equivalent.
Associate Analyst - Claims, Senior: Minimum of 7 years in property and casualty claims, litigation paralegal/secretarial experience, or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to investigate, evaluate, resolve, document, and report on a high volume of small liability, workers' compensation, and public damage recovery claims. Understanding of legal liability elements. Strong communication skills to interact with all organizational levels, handle criticism, and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based applications, with an understanding of when to escalate issues through appropriate reporting channels.

Certifications:
Licensed Claims Adjuster (may be obtained after employment begins).
Preferred: Certifications in claims, paralegal, administrative, or secretarial fields.
