Job Summary
This position is responsible for the electronic and manual posting of insurance and patient payments at Arkansas Heart Hospital. The successful candidate will interpret insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs) and adjust patient accounts accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret insurance explanation of benefits from carriers to determine appropriate processing requirements.
- Enter insurance payments and associated adjustments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Post personal payments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify and correct EOBs incorrectly processed and submit for claim review.
- Balance all batches keyed.
- Process claims for secondary review as needed.
- Maintain responsibility for business office petty cash.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide backup for other business office functions as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience processing medical charges and working with insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs).
