Job Overview
The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting quantitative assessments and reporting on financial data across the organization.

This role encompasses various analyses, including but not limited to cost/benefit evaluations, long-term forecasting, cost trend analysis, root cause assessments, variance evaluations, human capital assessments, cost reduction strategies, profitability evaluations, financial statement analysis, claims and premium assessments, and other strategic planning initiatives.


Qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial analysis. Alternatively, a relevant Master's degree with at least three (3) years of experience.

Proficiency in statistical analysis.

Detail-Oriented

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with financial reporting audits, collaborating with internal auditors, regulatory bodies, independent auditors, and/or the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. May assist in special projects as directed. May be required to analyze and review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, invoice coding, accounting analysis, and reconciliation. Undertake additional duties as assigned. Prepare supporting financial data as necessary. Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts.
