Key Responsibilities:

The Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) initiative is integral to the Air Force's mission of maintaining the safety of nuclear weapon systems. Our team conducts thorough evaluations and testing of software associated with nuclear weapon systems to ensure compliance with DoD Nuclear Surety standards.

We are currently seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to contribute to our diverse team.

Position Overview:

This role involves:

  • Conducting system assessments, focusing on software to identify flaws and recommend enhancements.
  • Engaging in code review, analysis, and testing activities.
  • Possibly utilizing system simulators and performing statistical analyses.
  • Reviewing and analyzing systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to gain a comprehensive understanding of their design and functionality.
  • Identifying hardware and software components critical for safety and mission success.
  • Executing detailed evaluations of embedded software to ensure compliance with software requirements and to detect potential safety hazards.
  • Establishing requirements, designs, and testing protocols to guarantee system performance meets expectations.
  • Documenting analyses and identifying any anomalies.
  • Presenting findings to colleagues, clients, and management.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Experience or coursework in an object-oriented programming language.
  • Ability to identify logical errors, inconsistencies in code, and safety risks associated with software and hardware design.
  • Proficiency in technical writing, ensuring documentation is clear and grammatically correct.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming languages.
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
