Our hospital is conveniently located and offers diverse specialties, including heart care, labor and delivery, and robotic-assisted surgery. We have a Level III trauma center, certified Chest Pain Center, recognized stroke center, cardiac cath lab, and neonatal, surgical, and medical intensive care units.

Job Summary

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer will assist the Chief Nursing Officer in providing leadership to nurse employees, creating ownership of goals, and actively participating in decisions that impact the hospital. This role will also assist in maintaining necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in providing leadership to nurse employees and creating ownership of goals.
  • Maintain necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations.
  • Partner with physicians to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Assist in planning new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Create an environment that encourages recruiting and retention of clinical employees.
  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in managing costs by identifying opportunities and eliminating non-value costs.
  • Establish standards for nursing practices and maintain authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing services.
  • Develop organizational patient care programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in developing and managing the nursing services budget.
  • Plan and provide nursing care interventions to prevent complications and promote patient comfort and wellness.
  • Analyze areas for performance improvement and conduct organization-wide performance improvement activities.
  • Represent the nursing services at meetings and participate in designing and providing patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Detailed knowledge of hospital nursing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated successful leadership in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Registered nurse (RN) with a current licensure within the state.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and patient's families.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal, financial, or medical matters.
