KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will:

Oversee Financial Management: Manage the financial operations of the organization, including cash flow, budgeting, and financial systems.

Collaborate with Artistic Leadership: Establish and maintain a dynamic partnership with the Artistic Director, fostering an environment of mutual respect and shared vision to ensure artistic excellence while managing the organization responsibly.

Build Community Relationships: Develop strong external connections within the community and with a broader network of donors and arts organizations.

Staff Leadership and Development: Mentor and lead staff, fostering collaboration and synergy across the organization while fulfilling human resource responsibilities.

Enhance Marketing Strategies: Oversee marketing initiatives aimed at increasing audience attendance at performances.

Community Representation: Represent the organization at performances and various community events.

ESSENTIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNCTIONS

Work with the Board and Artistic Director to establish a clear fundraising strategy and set ambitious yet achievable goals.

Manage the organization’s development activities, including major and annual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundations, and fundraising events.

Maintain accountability for achieving fundraising targets and tracking progress against goals.

Build strong relationships with staff and external stakeholders to enhance philanthropic support and clarify giving opportunities.

Manage relationships with corporate, foundation, and government donors, including writing applications and reports, coordinating donor benefits, and representing the organization.

Ensure donors receive thoughtful stewardship through timely acknowledgments, cultivation opportunities, and donor benefits such as studio tours and pre-show receptions.

Oversee the planning of significant fundraising events.

Manage in-kind donations, including solicitation and stewardship of gifts.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree.

Proven experience in cultivating relationships and securing funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Strong leadership capabilities, including strategic thinking and project management.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

High emotional and social intelligence.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Appreciation for the performing arts and their significance to individuals and the community.

Knowledge of the local and state-wide funding landscape.

High level of personal responsibility, initiative, and self-motivation.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to work nights and weekends, especially during production or special event weeks.

Salary commensurate with experience.
