Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring audits adhere to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, accepted Accounting Principles, and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Conducting various types of audits to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of existing controls.
  • Executing complex and highly technical internal audits.
  • Leading audit teams, which includes delegating tasks, training audit personnel, and providing technical support to Agency staff.
  • Reviewing audit tests conducted by other auditors involved in the same project.
  • Engaging with clients during the audit planning phase and facilitating entrance and exit conferences.
  • Ensuring all findings and recommendations are well-supported.
  • Guaranteeing that audit reports are precise, concise, comprehensive, relevant, and timely.
  • Conducting exit meetings with clients and communicating details as per agreed terms.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the agency's internal annual risk assessment.
  • Facilitating exit conferences and gathering corrective action plans.
  • Monitoring and following up on corrective action plans.
  • Providing assistance to the Privacy Coordinator as needed and serving as a backup.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance with a minimum of 15 semester hours in auditing, accounting, or related courses; professional auditing experience is mandatory.
  • Experience in government accounting, auditing, or risk assessment, as well as financial and records management is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in supervisory roles and familiarity with SCEIS is preferred.
