OVERVIEW

The Principal Accountant is tasked with overseeing general ledger functions, crafting financial statements, and managing the monthly account cycles. This role requires a proactive approach to grasping process flows and internal controls. The Principal Accountant will engage in general accounting, trend assessments, and profit/loss evaluations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct corporate month-end closing processes, including the preparation and examination of reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Compile monthly consolidated financial reports, ensuring the inclusion of elimination and inter-company transactions.
  • Generate various analytical reports and undertake special projects as needed.
  • Support fellow accountants within the department as required.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and information.
  • Produce, analyze, and communicate financial data that accurately reflects performance against budgetary expectations.
  • Accountable for maintaining accounting records, investigating transactions, and reporting findings.
  • Execute regular accounting tasks that necessitate professional expertise.
  • Document accounting processes and transactions for future financial management and auditing purposes.
  • Review, refine, and update the company's financial policies and procedures.
  • Offer recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Identify potential control weaknesses and propose solutions to strengthen controls.
  • Act as a representative of the company in communications with external contacts and agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent professional background.
  • Experience in accounting for multi-entity organizations with intercompany transactions is preferred.
  • Ability to manage moderately complex accounting tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in accounting software and systems; experience with Hyperion and/or One Stream is a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding internal customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent oral and written communication skills.
