Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a dedicated Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) for our SITE III JIOC Contract.

Role Summary:

As an integral member of the SITE III JIOC team, you will significantly enhance the security posture of various applications that facilitate intelligence operations for Combatant Commands and Federal Agencies. This role emphasizes the coordination, maintenance, and enhancement of intelligence operations that directly support analysts, operations, and collection managers.

Key Duties:

  • Design and implement security solutions for network systems, ensuring adherence to cybersecurity standards.
  • Support testing and validation in a controlled environment while managing security considerations in live environments.
  • Work collaboratively with the ISSO on security evaluations utilizing SIEM tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring DISA STIG compliance.
  • Integrate security requirements through DevSecOps and SecOps methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and evaluate system-level Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) requirements and enforce best security practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in system security engineering and familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in SIEM tools such as Splunk, vulnerability analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Capability to coordinate security initiatives and oversee technical aspects of security audits.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing technical solutions to enhance system security.

Essential Qualifications:

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and information assurance processes and documentation using RMF; BS degree; 8 years of experience with a master's degree; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree (consideration at Staff level with relevant experience).
  • Experience collaborating with software developers and architects to understand security requirements.
  • Experience advising application developers on security policies, identifying security needs, and providing technical guidance.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs and STIG Viewer.
  • Hands-on experience in creating and validating control implementations and testing procedures.
  • Understanding of current security threats and protocols.
  • DoD Certified 8570 IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level 2 Certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Experience with RMF, Xacta.
  • Active TS clearance adjudication with the ability to obtain SCI and polygraph.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in a secure environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS/Google cloud-hosted information systems or applications.
  • Familiarity with Redhat or CentOS Linux operating systems.
  • Involvement in a DevSecOps environment and toolchain.
  • Experience in developing security tools and processes for scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Participation in planning and managing configuration changes for major applications across multiple networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
