Position Overview

Peraton is seeking an experienced Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to enhance our SITE III JIOC Contract.

Role Summary:

As an integral member of the SITE III JIOC team, you will significantly contribute to strengthening the security posture of diverse applications that facilitate intelligence operations for Combatant Commands and Federal Agencies. This role emphasizes the coordination, maintenance, and enhancement of intelligence operations that directly support analysts, operations, and collection managers.

Key Duties:

  • Design and implement security solutions for network infrastructures, ensuring adherence to cybersecurity regulations.
  • Support testing and validation in controlled environments while managing security considerations in live settings.
  • Work in close collaboration with the ISSO on security evaluations utilizing SIEM tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring DISA STIG compliance.
  • Integrate security requirements through DevSecOps and SecOps methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Establish and evaluate system-level Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) requirements and execute optimal security practices.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and information assurance processes and documentation utilizing RMF; a Bachelor's degree is required; 8 years of experience with a Master's degree; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree (consideration at Staff level with relevant experience).
  • Experience collaborating with software developers and architects to understand security requirements.
  • Experience advising application developers on security policies, identifying security needs, and providing technical direction.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and STIG Viewer.
  • Hands-on experience in creating and validating control implementations and testing procedures.
  • Understanding of current security threats and protocols.
  • DoD Certified 8570 IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level 2 Certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Experience with RMF and Xacta.
  • Active TS clearance adjudication with the ability to obtain SCI and polygraph.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in a secure environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS/Google cloud-hosted information systems or applications.
  • Familiarity with Redhat or CentOS Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment and toolchain.
  • Experience in developing security tools and processes for scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Involvement in planning and managing configuration changes for major applications across multiple networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
