Overview:
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Tailored Management, you will be instrumental in bringing innovative technologies to fruition. Your role will involve defining and steering intricate, cross-departmental initiatives for new product and technology launches. You will oversee the execution of these initiatives, which includes requirement planning, schedule management, risk identification, and mitigation strategies. Your communication skills will be key in updating stakeholders on program status and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering development initiatives for new hardware projects from conception to production readiness.
- Manage a cross-functional team comprising Product Development, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, Software, and Operations.
- Establish timelines, pinpoint critical paths, and address bottlenecks to ensure program execution.
- Represent the hardware function in project reviews and meetings.
- Communicate program updates effectively, identify potential risks, and devise mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement best practices for technology development processes.
- Oversee prototype hardware builds with contract manufacturers.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables, including specifications and testing plans.
- Ensure program documentation is comprehensive and accessible for review.
- Manage the project hardware budget efficiently.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in consumer electronics and early-stage product categories.
- Proven track record of shipping products, particularly in wearables or mobile devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in engineering.
- Experience with major tech companies is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience managing hardware programs from concept to production.
- Familiarity with phase gate processes in technology development.
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical teams.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience working independently across multiple teams.

A quick learner with the ability to operate independently across various teams and projects with minimal oversight.
