Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Management Intern to join our team at Stantec. As a Construction Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including urban design and planning, roadways, park and recreation design, and infrastructure design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with completing the civil component of projects in a dynamic design team setting.
  • Perform construction observation for project compliance with project documents and engineering principles.
  • Document construction activities, measure materials, witness materials testing, review shop drawings, and provide general project oversight.
  • Complete detailed reports as required.
  • Assist with construction surveying and staking as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of basic AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and general surveying.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interest in serving municipalities with their infrastructure needs.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and work independently.
Education and Experience

In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, construction management GIS/Survey, or related field from a post-secondary institution.

Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following is desired: civil engineering planning, design, construction, infrastructure, hydrology, environmental science, surveying, and construction management.
