Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek orders from both current and potential clients to expand the customer base.
  • Foster strong customer relationships by traveling within the assigned region to engage with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs.
  • Maintain and organize a database of potential clients for sales outreach through various techniques, including cold-calling.
  • Explore new and existing market segments to boost sales and market presence in the assigned regions.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of branch and regional profit and loss dynamics, including pricing strategies and service costs.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in solid waste product pricing, costs, and applications, including various service offerings.
  • Provide potential clients with pricing estimates and credit terms, preparing sales agreements while consulting with management as necessary.
  • Exhibit proficiency in customer needs assessment, upgrades, and retention strategies, particularly in industrial compaction applications.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to major accounts, showcasing products and services while highlighting key features.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities and market trends.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for price adjustments for underperforming accounts.
  • Conduct waste stream assessments to estimate volumes and identify streams suitable for recycling or special handling.
  • Engage in business meetings, conferences, and community events to enhance the company's visibility.
  • Build and maintain relationships with large clients, including municipal and governmental entities, assisting with bid processes.
  • Support the identification and integration of potential acquisition targets.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Skilled in presenting information and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Competent in performing calculations related to sales and pricing.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Capable of designing and implementing solutions for client-specific challenges.
  • Adept at interpreting instructions in various formats.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple initiatives with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience or knowledge in the solid waste industry is preferred.
  • Two to three years of sales experience with a solid understanding of sales methodologies.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant vision tasks.
  • Capability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds regularly.

Working Conditions:

  • Position involves significant travel, often in high-traffic areas.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions is expected.
  • Noise levels may vary from moderate to loud.
