Job Overview

Soofa is a pioneering company dedicated to enhancing urban landscapes through solar-powered, digitally connected signage. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the seamless functionality of our signage systems, contributing to vibrant urban settings.

We seek a skilled field technician who can effectively apply their troubleshooting expertise to practical solutions. Collaborating closely with our field operations team, you will be tasked with the routine upkeep, maintenance, and resolution of issues related to Soofa Signs in the local area. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on individual who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys the challenge of understanding complex systems.

This position begins as a seasonal opportunity, with the potential for transition into a full-time role based on performance. The work environment is flexible, requiring regular visits to various sign locations. Candidates must be prepared for travel to these sites. Comprehensive onboarding training will be provided to ensure a thorough understanding of our signage systems and their operations. While Soofa will supply all necessary specialized tools, candidates may need to provide standard hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and step ladders as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair signage on-site, as well as manage upgrade projects as necessary.
  • Perform regular cleaning, repairs, battery replacements, and maintenance tasks, including snow removal from solar panels and application of vinyl decals.
  • Maintain the exterior condition of signs in the field, including cleaning, rust removal, repainting, and vinyl applications.
  • Document serial IDs, capture sign updates through photography, and log activities in our mobile app work order system, including mileage and hours worked.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with team members.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
  • Work in various indoor and outdoor settings, adapting to changing weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field maintenance or mechanical/electrical equipment repair, including troubleshooting and hardware replacement.
  • At least 2 years of experience with ticketing, work-order, or asset management software.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions or technical guidelines.
  • Willingness to travel to various site locations as required.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, which may include weekends or holidays on an emergency basis.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the designated area.
