New England College of Optometry seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including our historic Back Bay campus and two eye care clinics.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in maintenance and repair, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our Manager of Building & Grounds and other teams to manage events, special projects, and vendor activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the upkeep of our facilities
- Manage events and special projects, including setup and teardown
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure a safe and healthy environment for our staff and patients
- Perform light construction, room setup/turnover, and snow removal as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare or educational setting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Valid MA driver's license and clean driving history
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in small spaces
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $63,000 - $65,000
