About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at POAH Communities. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain the condition of apartment properties throughout the community, identifying and addressing any unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all necessary equipment, ensuring optimal performance and extending the lifespan of our assets.
  • Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs, utilizing your knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed to the highest standards, meeting the needs of our residents and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining the grounds, ensuring they are neat and clean, and performing tasks such as raking, sweeping, and shoveling as necessary.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance, with a strong background in facilities management.
  • High School diploma or GED required, with HVAC certification preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License and automobile insurance coverage, as use of personal vehicles may be required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call duties as necessary.
  • Knowledge and skills in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform duties 66-100% of the time, including being on feet, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder level, climbing ladders, grasping/gripping/turning, finger dexterity, lifting/carrying up to 75lbs, and reading/understanding maintenance forms and warning labels.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
