Position Overview

The role of a Registered Nurse at The Children's Village encompasses a variety of essential responsibilities aimed at providing high-quality healthcare services.

  • Admission Process: Engage in the intake procedures by performing nursing evaluations and alerting the psychiatrist regarding new admissions.
  • Emergency and Routine Care: Deliver nursing assessments, triage, first aid, and treatment for both routine and urgent medical situations.
  • Infirmary Care: Offer comprehensive nursing services to residents within the infirmary setting.
  • Medication Management: Accurately transcribe medical directives, administer medications, and maintain precise documentation of all medical records.
  • Medication Administration: Responsible for administering medications across various locations including cottages, clinics, and the infirmary.
  • Emergency Equipment: Ensure that emergency equipment is readily available and properly maintained.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee and guide medical personnel in delivering care to residents, including during medical transportation.
  • Employee Care: Provide medical evaluations and treatment for staff members, coordinating referrals as necessary.
  • Health Education: Deliver health education and effectively communicate medical requirements to the appropriate personnel.
  • Therapeutic Coordination: Organize therapeutic holds and assist in the orientation of new medical staff members.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to fulfill departmental responsibilities.
Position Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • Preferred CPR certification.
  • Desirable experience in pediatric, psychiatric, or emergency nursing care.
Shifts Available: 7am-3pm Mon-Fri
