Responsibilities of the Migrant Child Care Center Supervisor:
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of staff, ensuring all hiring documentation is completed in line with organizational procedures.
  • Organize and facilitate orientation and training sessions for new employees and volunteers.
  • Provide direct oversight to staff members, including the Bus Driver and Food Services Manager, offering training, technical support, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Create and manage employee schedules, process overtime requests with justifications, and review and approve timesheets.
  • Maintain comprehensive Administrative and Personnel Records, including Health Records and I-9 Forms, in compliance with HR policies, and implement safety programs, including processing workers' compensation claims as needed.
  • Evaluate and confirm the eligibility of children through documentation review and sign-off on the Certificate of Eligibility Form.
  • Ensure that the physical environment meets federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA compliance, state licensing, and OSHA standards by conducting facility inspections and completing necessary checklists.
  • Assist in the annual renewal of facility licenses and submit all required documentation for compliance.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the facility and equipment by conducting safety checks and inspections, and adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Implement the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in accordance with USDA regulations, ensuring compliance with menus, meal scheduling, and food safety standards.
  • Follow organizational purchasing procedures by submitting requisitions and maintaining inventory control.
  • Coordinate weekly team meetings and monthly staff gatherings, while also participating in community outreach activities.
  • Monitor budget compliance and expenditures based on enrollment figures.
  • Establish and oversee procedures for managing health emergencies, child abuse prevention, and confidentiality.
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly and monthly reports, including attendance records and other assigned documentation.
  • Facilitate home visits conducted by staff to enhance service delivery and coordinate random drug testing for selected personnel.
  • Manage data entry for program areas, including fiscal, transportation, facilities, and food services, and contribute to community assessment data collection.
  • Report any suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state laws and organizational policies.
  • Develop and implement ongoing recruitment strategies, particularly for children with disabilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Migrant Child Care Center Supervisor:
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of 60 college credit hours, including 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or CDA.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Must meet state licensing and Head Start requirements for the Center Manager role.
  • Child Care Administrator's Credential or the ability to obtain it within two years.
  • Preferred experience in a childcare environment with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong presentation and training skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and adequate insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check prior to starting.
  • Must complete a physical examination and TB test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment.
