- Perform hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries, employing the latest methodologies and technologies to maximize patient recovery and satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, to provide holistic patient care.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and potential surgical risks.
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of medical records and surgical procedures.
- Adapt to a flexible schedule that meets patient needs and aligns with the surgical timetable.
- Participate in community trauma level call coverage in collaboration with other surgical specialties.
Position Highlights:
- Access to two full surgical blocks per week.
- Utilization of cutting-edge medical equipment and support from an administrative team committed to enhancing your specialized practice.
- Two dedicated days for outpatient clinic appointments, focusing on diagnosing orthopedic issues, discussing surgical alternatives, and providing pre- and post-operative care.
- Opportunity to fill a position in response to community needs following the retirement of a full-time surgeon.
- Support from experienced advanced practice providers who assist in managing patient panels and collaborate closely during surgical and clinic days.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with a specialization in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Fellowship training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to secure a valid and unrestricted medical license in Vermont.
- Demonstrated expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty procedures.
- Exceptional surgical skills with a strong commitment to patient safety and care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse medical teams.
- Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic clinical environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, particularly the EPIC platform.
