Position Title: Customer Service Representative II (Part-Time)

Location: Newport News, VA

Compensation: Hourly Wage

Role Summary: The Customer Service Representative II plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service in alignment with company standards. This position involves efficiently processing sales transactions, managing event ticket sales, overseeing ID badge operations, and ensuring the security of company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to every customer by fostering a welcoming environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging customers, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating solid product knowledge.
  • Stay informed about transit and route information to assist customers effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash and media transactions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist with requests.
  • Input all media transactions into the tally program accurately.
  • Ensure supplies and route schedules are adequately stocked.
  • Handle customer complaints and inquiries with professionalism.
  • Answer phone inquiries, providing information on routes, schedules, fares, and services.
  • Review and update Emergency Operations Procedures related to customer service.
  • Process Half Fare IDs and maintain the corresponding database.
  • Provide clerical support, including word processing and spreadsheet management.
  • Manage records in compliance with company policies.
  • Adhere to environmental policies and emergency management plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a pleasant telephone demeanor.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and public relations techniques.
  • Familiarity with the Hampton Roads area.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and follow both written and oral instructions.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment and software, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and process information through the register system.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED, supplemented by training in data entry.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in customer service and cashiering.

Licenses:

  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a keyboard and use a telephone extensively.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle and move boxes of media as required.

Work Environment: The role may involve meeting multiple demands in a timely manner and requires flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
