Position: Lead Systems Operations Specialist (TS Poly)

About the Role:
We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Systems Operations Specialist to uphold the performance and security of our multi-user computing systems. In partnership with network engineers, you will be instrumental in ensuring seamless operations, monitoring system resources, and addressing intricate issues.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage system resources, including CPU performance, disk utilization, and response times to maintain operational efficiency.
2. Execute system security administration tasks, such as establishing user profiles and accounts.
3. Provide Tier 3 support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, showcasing the ability to foresee and take decisive action.
4. Configure operating systems and ensure applications are developed on PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
5. Develop scripts for monitoring system services, analyzing logs, and performing SQL and PL/SQL tasks for data reporting and modifications.
6. Engage with users, assess vendor products, and recommend hardware and software acquisitions.
7. Formulate and enforce policies and standards for resource allocation within computing environments.
8. Collaborate on the installation of system-wide software, hardening applications/operating systems, and managing mass storage allocation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years in systems administration, with expertise in Linux or CentOS.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in maintaining applications on PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
- Proficient in scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL for system monitoring and data management.
- Knowledge of Keytool, OpenSSL, and troubleshooting Java and Oracle applications.
- Familiarity with XML.
- DoD 8570 compliant with current IAT level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, GICSP, SSCP, etc.).
- Experience in managing systems within cloud environments.
- Understanding of Firewalls and AWS Security Groups.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Linux+ certification.
- Current RHCSA/RHCE certification.
- Microsoft MCSA certification.
- VMware Certified Professional.
- Knowledge of SQL Servers.
