Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a Systems Administration and Sustainment Manager to provide support for an Intelligence Community client in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of system sustainment professionals, including task planning and scheduling, training and mentoring personnel, ensuring adequate resources, and reporting status to upper management.
  • Make decisions regarding hiring and termination, conduct performance assessments, and manage salary reviews for assigned personnel while adhering to company policies.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all sustainment efforts for a portfolio of Joint Operation & Intelligence Center Applications across various functional areas and products.
  • Ensure the team meets contractual Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Implement best practices while mentoring, leading, and collaborating with other software/systems engineers and system administrators to enhance organizational capabilities and resilience.
  • Direct sustainment activities, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards, while facilitating communication across the project team regarding status, justifications for variances, and technical details.
  • Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources in collaboration with project managers, software/systems engineers, system administrators, and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).
  • Engage in strategic discussions regarding technology, defining and implementing the Joint Operation & Intelligence Center Applications and their long-term sustainment needs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives related to sustainment efforts.
  • Investigate issues and develop solutions and recommended corrective actions.
  • Participate in meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:

10 years of relevant experience, which may include supervisory or leadership roles.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of applicable experience. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Active DOD TS/SCI security clearance or SCI eligibility with the ability to obtain a polygraph prior to employment.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in a secure setting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, particularly with Linux or CentOS.
  • Proven experience in managing sustainment teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan, and implement project activities and resources using a flexible, adaptive, and problem-solving approach.
  • Experience in maintaining systems in both cloud and virtual server environments.
  • Familiarity with ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) and STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) compliance remediation or equivalent security requirements and tools.
  • Experience interfacing with government representatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and a motivated, adaptable team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to anticipate issues and take decisive action.
  • DoD 8570 compliant with current IAT level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, GICSP, SSCP, etc.).
Desired Qualifications:
  • Current CI polygraph.
  • Linux+ certification.
  • Current RHCSA/RHCE certification.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification.
  • VMware Certified Professional.
  • Knowledge of SQL Servers.
  • Familiarity with RMF (Risk Management Framework).
