Job Summary

Galaxy Vets is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various duties, including patient appointments, laboratory sample collection, and radiology procedures.
  • Provide excellent patient care, including feeding, exercising, and grooming animals as prescribed by attending veterinarians.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgery suite.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of medical equipment, including laboratory machines and surgical packs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing compassionate and professional service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Dependable, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
