POSITION SUMMARY:
The Foster Care Support Specialist is responsible for managing a caseload of up to twelve children, while also participating in on-call duties as required.
This role necessitates consistent supervision and collaboration with the Program Manager to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, alongside ongoing engagement and support for foster children, foster parents, and community partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain an assigned caseload of up to 12 foster children.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation for each child on your caseload.
Evaluate the needs of foster children and implement actionable objectives and services to meet those needs.
Conduct home and field visits multiple times a month for each child on your caseload.
Facilitate or attend meetings on behalf of foster children and families, ensuring professional communication with community stakeholders.
Oversee visitations between foster children and their biological families, provide necessary transportation for services, and make referrals to appropriate agencies.
Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.Complete Medicaid case management billing for all approved individuals.
Offer support to foster children and families during crises.
Provide ongoing training and assistance to foster families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in any field with two years of experience in casework services for children and families; or a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, with one year of experience in casework services; or a master's or doctorate in social work from an accredited institution with relevant experience.
Candidates must be prepared to work on-site and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of HumanKind, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children and families for over a century.
