POSITION OVERVIEW FOR FOSTER CARE SUPPORT SPECIALIST: The Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist is responsible for managing a caseload of up to twelve children. This role includes rotating on-call duties as assigned. Regular collaboration with the Program Manager is essential to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, as well as to maintain ongoing communication and support for foster children, foster parents, and community partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage an assigned caseload of up to 12 foster children.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive records, including Monthly Notes, 14-Day Plans, 30-Day Plans, Social Histories, and Quarterly Reports.
  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of foster children and implement effective strategies to address these needs.
  • Perform home and field visits multiple times a month for each child on the caseload.
  • Attend and coordinate meetings for foster children and families, including FAPT, Court, and Treatment Team meetings.
  • Maintain professional communication with community stakeholders.
  • Support positive relationships with birth families.
  • Supervise visitations and provide transportation for necessary services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training as required.
  • Complete necessary billing for Medicaid case management.
  • Engage in audits conducted by licensing inspectors.
  • Provide crisis support to foster children and families.
  • Adhere to all mandated reporting guidelines.
  • Assist with the marketing of the Treatment Foster Care program as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in standard office equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in handling crisis situations with professionalism.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with relevant policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in any field with two years of experience in casework services, or a degree in social work or a related field with one year of experience.
  • Successful completion of all required background checks and drug tests.
  • Ability to respond to on-call emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work in various locations as required.
