About Immigrant Food+
">We are a dynamic restaurant in Washington, DC seeking a highly motivated and organized Sous Chef to join our team. Our menu is crafted by award-winning chefs Enrique Limardo and Mile Montezuma.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef/Chef in developing new menus, supervising the kitchen, and working with the team to maintain high standards.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Supervise the preparation and execution of menu items
- Collaborate with the Chef team to plan and create menus
- Anticipate inventory needs and ensure adequate stock levels
- Maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment
- Control costs and optimize resource allocation
- Develop and execute catering events
- Implement new culinary initiatives with the marketing and culinary teams
- Produce high-quality dishes that meet customer expectations
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively
Requirements:
">- Proven experience as a sous chef or chef
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, safety protocols, and best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
- Desirable: experience with catering and event planning
- Expected salary: $60,000 - $80,000 annually
