Position Overview

The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer is tasked with maintaining the necessary operational security posture for accredited Information Systems (IS) in alignment with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the stipulations of IS accreditation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with IT Architects to develop innovative hardware and software solutions that meet security requirements.
  • Ensure all security tools are configured and operating correctly, including Host-Based Security Systems, Vulnerability Scanning, and Enterprise User Auditing.
  • Facilitate coordination and interaction with senior engineers representing both the customer and the organization.
  • Support the overarching enterprise strategy for information security, technology risk management, and compliance.
  • Oversee security engineering related to life cycle changes for all accredited Information Systems.
  • Document special security requirements and the protective measures implemented to safeguard the information within the IS.
  • Guarantee that systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of according to security policies and procedures outlined in the security authorization package.
  • Capture and refine new information security requirements, ensuring their effective integration into information systems.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
  • Assist in creating training materials to educate managers, administrators, and users on the significance of system and data security, their roles in safeguarding information, and how to observe, report, and implement changes to maintain security.

Required Qualifications

This role necessitates a minimum of 8 years of relevant classified IT, cybersecurity, or Information Assurance experience, along with a related bachelor’s degree, or 12 years of equivalent experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Existing Top Secret/SCI access and Counterintelligence Polygraph.
  • Familiarity with Information Security or Information Technology standards.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Understanding of government directives and policies derived from NIST, CNSSI, ICS, DoD, ICD, or other regulatory compliance standards.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 AIM level II or higher Certification (CISSP or equivalent).

  • In-depth knowledge of network administration and security practices, including routine network auditing.
  • Experience with security tools such as ACAS (Tenable SC), Host-Based Security Systems, and log aggregation tools like Elastic and/or Splunk.
  • Capability to prepare various types of documentation, policies, guides, and presentations.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are market-driven and designed to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential aligned with experience.

The salary range for this position is:
$119,000 - $199,000 annually.

This position is also eligible for incentives based on contributions, company performance, and individual results achieved; specific incentive plans and target amounts will be determined based on the role and contributions.
