Job Summary

The Operations & Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of MEP equipment within our electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant. This is a performance-based, 12-year contract providing hard services of MEP equipment, excluding manufacturing and production equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance and technical experience, as well as leadership background. They will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and commissioning of HVAC systems, including detailed troubleshooting. The role will also perform a variety of repairs and services in a specialized building system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC, Mechanical Systems, and building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, maintain, monitor, and adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
  • Accomplish preventive maintenance management and repairs for HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
  • Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
  • Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
  • Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
  • Requisition new supplies and equipment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires two-year technical degree or two years of relevant experience, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
  • Knowledge of the following trades/skills: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Working on mission-critical projects.
  • Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS) and low-voltage control systems.
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and special maintenance events as needed.
  • Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
  • Requires Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
  • May be required to possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview.
