Position Overview:

The Lead Accountant will oversee the daily operational finance functions for our LNG facilities and pipeline assets. This role demands adaptability to shifting priorities within a dynamic, high-growth setting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all facets of the operational finance processes related to the Company's LNG facility and pipeline operations, focusing on commodities and inventory management, maintenance cost reporting, and asset protection.
  • Calculate, prepare, and document monthly accruals and necessary adjustments within the SAP ERP system.
  • Act as the Accounting lead for inventory protection and cycle counting procedures.
  • Serve as the onsite Accounting lead for capital initiatives and related fixed assets.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analytics.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to pinpoint and address discrepancies, submitting reconciliations in Blackline.
  • Collaborate with the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate recording, reconciliation, and review of all operational activities in line with corporate accounting's financial reporting schedules.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to assist in monthly operational performance and KPI reporting, as well as various projects throughout the year.
  • Engage with internal controls and functional leaders to facilitate the development of new operational finance processes and ensure robust internal controls are established.
  • Foster relationships with onsite stakeholders, including Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and optimize existing systems to automate processes and reduce risks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting-related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • CPA designation is advantageous.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience in operations or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • General understanding of construction project accounting and current industry trends.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret vendor agreements.
  • Solid grasp of internal control principles and processes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
