Role Objective:
The Service Operations Technician is tasked with identifying and rectifying mechanical problems associated with diesel engines, overhead cranes, hoists, and elevators.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of Lever/Hand Chain hoists, fall protection systems, and rigging to ensure adherence to manufacturer, OSHA, and ANSI regulations. Stay informed on relevant standards.
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, estimations, repairs, and proof load testing.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
- Assess and provide recommendations for necessary repairs.
- Manage existing accounts by reviewing work orders, organizing daily schedules, and prioritizing tasks.
- Document service and installation activities through forms, reports, and checklists, both manual and digital.
- Enhance customer trust by ensuring prompt response times, communicating issues to sales, and completing tasks efficiently.
- Maintain all company tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and certifications, including vehicles, forklifts, and operating machinery.
- Oversee inventory levels of stock items.
- Prepare and formalize proposals for replacement and repair opportunities, forwarding them to the Service Branch Manager for further action.
- Keep training certifications current, with sponsorship provided by the company.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot 460 vac 3-phase electrical motors and control circuitry.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Possession of personal electrician's hand tools, a quality electrical test meter, and steel-toed boots.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record and currently possess or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card.
- Technical Education Certification is preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and background check (including MVR).
Work Environment:
- Ability to work efficiently outdoors with regular exposure to varying temperatures.
- Comfortable working from elevated positions to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Willingness to travel to job sites or other branches as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
