Job Summary

AEG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Security Manager to join our team. As an Event Security Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and managing part-time event security staff at the Opera House, ensuring the safety and security of employees, guests, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage part-time event security staff to ensure the safety and security of employees, guests, and clients.
  • Ensure that all event security staff are properly trained and equipped to handle emergency situations.
  • Monitor and maintain a clear and safe passage route in and around floor-level accessible seating areas.
  • Monitor and maintain the safety of performing band members, staff, and the stage security and integrity of the event.
  • Assist guests in the event of an emergency evacuation.
  • Conduct visual guest inspections and checks all bags as required by OVG policy.
  • Operate walk-through and/or handheld metal detector units.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Assistant Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and forms as required by department policy.
  • Ensure that housekeeping, safety, alcohol control, and security issues comply with department policies.
  • Perform special projects as needed or requested.

Requirements

  • Must be able to manage, coach, and counsel employees.
  • Must have a general knowledge of the security industry, specifically in the crowd management areas of public events.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills along with the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well under stress and exercise good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact under all circumstances.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Must be willing to rotate to various positions within a shift as needed.
