Overview:


Merrick & Company is in search of a full-time Lead Electrical Engineer III for our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing division to enhance our team.

This sector engages with various market areas, including but not limited to industrial food & beverage, refining, power generation, and advanced biofuels.

This is a Full-Time role.

The selected candidate will take on the responsibilities of supervising and providing technical guidance to a team of 2-4 professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the project discipline leader and oversee a team of 2-4 engineers.

Create electrical design documentation and schematics.

Review and validate the work of team members. Supervise the team's output.


Conduct both conceptual and detailed designs for low voltage power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMI's, process equipment, and instrumentation.

Engage with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and other relevant parties.

Facilitate project meetings and deliver presentations.


Execute standard electrical calculations, including voltage drop, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, arc flash assessments, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, and grounding.

Prepare specifications and datasheets for electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers.

Travel to project sites to assist with field assessments and as-built documentation.

Manage resources effectively to ensure project deliverables align with estimates.


Collaborate with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure project timelines are adhered to and comprehensive documentation is produced for each project.


Qualifications:


A minimum of eighteen (18) years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the power, energy, oil and gas, or other industrial sectors.

Experience in developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical equipment specifications, power plans, conduit layouts, and cable schedules.

Strong understanding of technical Codes and Standards: NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Word.

Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.

Ability to work in the office 3-5 days per week.

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited institution is required.

A Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory.

Client projects for this role necessitate U.S. Citizenship.

Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance policy.
