Position Summary

SUPERVISOR: Food Service Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following tasks are representative of the duties performed in this role. This list is not exhaustive, and management may assign additional responsibilities as needed.
- Set and clear dining tables and arrange seating as required.
- Prepare and serve menu items such as desserts, salads, beverages, and ensure that food service dispensers are adequately stocked.
- Assist members to ensure their safety during meals, including helping with seating arrangements and removing potential hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Wash dishes and operate the dishwasher, ensuring proper sanitation.
- Perform floor cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping, to maintain a clean environment.
- Clean surfaces in the dining area as assigned, ensuring a tidy and pleasant atmosphere.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with established guidelines.
- Prepare tables for the next dining service.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Complete other relevant tasks as assigned.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain confidentiality of all member information while assisting colleagues and visitors respectfully.
- Ensure a welcoming environment in the dining area for members during meals.
- Keep equipment in good working order for the next shift.
- Utilize chemicals safely in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Recognize and report any changes in members' behavior or condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Understand and follow cleaning schedules and standards.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations as per established protocols.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines as mandated by regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year in a healthcare food service role or two years in a commercial or hospitality food service environment preferred.
Certification: Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate (e.g., Serve Safe).
Skills: Excellent communication skills, particularly with individuals experiencing psychiatric conditions. Strong customer service abilities are essential.
Knowledge: Understanding of food service practices that accommodate the needs of members. Ability to recognize changes in members' behavior or appearance.
Bilingual: Preferred – Spanish language skills are a plus.
