About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Employment Opportunities Specialist to join our team at Making Opportunity Count Inc. As a key member of our Supported Employment Programs, you will play a vital role in assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment that aligns with their vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate competitive employment in a job setting that provides long-term, sustainable employment.
  • Community Collaboration: Collaborate with community providers to establish a steady stream of referrals and resources for employment programs.
  • Community Outreach: Present Making Opportunity Count at community workforce events, as needed, to promote our services and build relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Vocational Assessment: Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis, utilizing background information and work experiences to inform employment goals.
  • Job Development and Search: Conduct job development and job search activities to assist clients in achieving their employment objectives.
  • Follow-Along Support: Provide individualized follow-along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment and achieving long-term success.
  • Education and Support: Provide education and support to clients, as needed, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their chosen careers.
  • Outreach Services: Conduct outreach services, as needed, with clients who appear to be disengaging from the service to re-engage and support them in achieving their employment goals.
  • Individual Employment Plans: Develop an individual employment/education plan with each active caseload to ensure clients are working towards their employment objectives.
  • Community Meetings: Meet with individuals in the community, as needed, to promote our services and build relationships with potential clients and partners.
  • Program Development: Assist with the development of the SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) program to ensure it meets the needs of our clients and the community.
Requirements
  • Education: Equivalent to an undergraduate degree in workforce training & development, social services, or business.
  • Experience: Experience working with people with barriers to employment, providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as an effective team player is essential.
