Position Overview:


The Market Strategy Manager plays a crucial role in interpreting the requirements of clients and stakeholders across marketing, sales support, product development, and field operations.

This individual serves as the expert in market entry strategies, ensuring that insights from customers and the overarching marketing strategy enhance lead generation, conversion rates throughout the sales process, and successful transactions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with product and sales leadership to own and refine product messaging, value propositions, and market positioning aimed at targeted buyers. Works alongside market and segment Product Marketing Managers to inform product messaging based on platform capabilities and unique selling points.
  • Cultivates a comprehensive understanding of the target audience by conducting thorough research and gathering insights on buyer personas, including challenges, preferred channels, and decision-making processes, and shares these insights with marketing, sales, and service teams.
  • In partnership with product and sales teams, identifies and prioritizes target markets, segments, and accounts based on market potential, organizational maturity, and other relevant criteria to define market opportunities for the product suite, build business cases, and support market expansion or entry into new sectors.
  • Collaborates with the demand generation team to strategize and inform content and campaign initiatives centered around market entry strategies and customer purchasing needs.
  • Works with content, event, and public relations teams to develop and execute strategies at each stage of the sales funnel, including blogs, white papers, case studies, sales sheets, videos, press releases, webinars, events, and other marketing and sales support materials.
  • Owns the creation, dissemination, and execution of documents such as market requirements, marketing plans, sales enablement strategies, launch plans, and solution handbooks. Also responsible for the development and execution of assets related to platform initiatives where applicable.
  • In collaboration with product management and other Product Marketing Managers, informs competitive positioning and develops battle cards for the product suite using market research and competitive analysis. Provides market insights to influence product roadmaps and pricing strategies.
  • Acts as the market subject matter expert (SME) and serves as the company representative in discussions with industry analysts.
  • Implements a customer engagement strategy, collecting customer references, testimonials, and case studies for both external and internal use, establishing strategies to enhance customer retention, engage the client community, and promote upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborates with demand generation, sales, sales operations, and inside sales teams to understand reporting and metrics for each product to assess the overall impact of features on the value proposition.
  • For Platform Product Marketing, collaborates across the Product Marketing function to integrate platform-level messaging across various industries and product lines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing or B2B marketing, preferably within technology services, risk management, claims management, or insurance sectors.
  • Proven ability to drive impact through leading marketing initiatives, including aligning and securing buy-in from stakeholders across the organization (including marketing, service, product, and sales).
  • Demonstrated experience working with sales teams and supporting programs and sales enablement to drive awareness and demand generation.
  • Ability to showcase a successful track record in all key areas of responsibility, including goal setting, KPI management, data analysis, conclusion drawing, and recommendation development.
  • Certification in Product Marketing is advantageous.
  • Experience and comfort presenting to analysts and managing analyst RFP responses; for senior roles, experience managing analyst relations for a product or product group is preferred.
  • For senior roles, experience managing a portfolio of products is a plus.
