Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch.

This position is a critical role that requires a strong technical background in satellite communications, systems integration, and field operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing expertise to support research, development, assessments, adaptation, transformation, testing, integration, demonstrations, transition, fielding, sustainment, and enhancement of designated information and/or intelligence software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for the implementation and optimization of hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites, including oversight and integration support of existing hardware, software, network configurations, and new system initiatives.
  • Conduct New Equipment Training and Field Operations Support at both CONUS and OCONUS locations with trainers.
  • Install software maintenance releases or hardware upgrades, including the oversight of the installation process and test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation.
  • Possess knowledge of fundamentals of geosynchronous satellite orbits, RF signal flow, types of communications satellites (regenerative and non-regenerative), and network topology.
  • Prepare and conduct special reports and presentations pertinent to products and services, field operations, or other applications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience; four (4) years of additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Customer desired: Common Faculty Development – Instructor Course (CFD-IC) or TRADOC instructor course equivalent (ABIC, FIFC, or SGIC).
  • Army Space Control Fundamentals (ASCF) Course.
Clearance Requirements
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience operating signal generation devices (MODEM, VSG, SDR); measuring signal characteristics using a digital or analog spectrum analyzer; and applying Network, Multiplexing, Antenna Characteristics, and Modulation Concepts to SATCOM.
