POSITION SUMMARY: Patricio Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to contribute expertise at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide systems engineering proficiency to evaluate system concepts, designs, and interoperability; contribute to system architecture analysis for current and future PD Aerostat systems; participate in technical reviews including functional, preliminary, and critical design reviews, while defining suitable entrance and exit criteria for these evaluations.
  • Support the analysis of requirements and capability gaps, offering insights into user needs in accordance with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process, and translating these needs into performance specifications for all program systems.
  • Deliver technical assessments regarding the performance and progress of PD Aerostats' systems, exploring potential technologies to meet user requirements, and evaluating technology alternatives and strategies.
  • Assist in the creation of essential documentation, including Technology Readiness Levels for hardware and software, engineering change proposals, program baselines, engineering risk assessments, and technical manuals.
  • Manage requirements and communicate system architectures utilizing engineering and architecture tools such as Creo, Windchill, Rational, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), System Architect, Magic Draw, and Visio.
  • Recommend engineering solutions aimed at reducing overall sustainment costs through cost-benefit analysis.
  • Provide expertise in developing documentation for program offices, including systems engineering plans, test and evaluation master plans, technical specifications, interface control documents, and acquisition requirement packages.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with the DoD 5000 Framework.
  • Understanding of DoDAF artifacts.
  • Proficient in engineering and architecture tools such as Rational, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System, Visio, System Architect, and MagicDraw (preferred).
  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS or higher degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer with a working knowledge of DoDI 5000 and Defense Acquisition.
  • BA/BS or higher; an additional 10 years of experience in a related field may substitute for education. A Master's degree or higher may substitute for five years of experience if the degree is in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires sedentary work involving physical activities such as reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, and visual acuity. Employees may occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Employees must possess the ability to see and hear, read, and write effectively in English. The role demands adaptability, analytical skills, decision-making, dependability, and good judgment. Candidates should be able to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 15% by ground and air transportation.
